Abstract

Measurement of cosmic noise absorption has been carried out on 28·6 MHz at Waltair, during the period August 1965 to July 1966. The results of analysis, with special reference to the dependence of cosmic noise absorption on f0F2, are presented here. The total absorption during the day is found to vary as the square of f0F2, whereas during nights, the relation is linear. The nature of variation of total absorption with f0F2 is appreciably different for different seasons, with the index of f0F2decreasing systematically from summer to winter. The F-region contribution to total absorption is found to vary as the square of f0F2 during day and linearly during night.
