Recurrent Continuant Synthesis of Maximally Flat Time Delay Filters

Abstract

A new synthesis technique is applied to the synthesis of maximally flat time delay filters. Only the low pass case is considered as the other types may be derived from this by simple frequency transformations. It is shown that the recurrent determinant of a polynomial transfer function with a constant term other than unity can only be obtained in a modified form, being multiplied by the constant term.
