On the Reception of MF and HF Broadcast Signals in Atmospheric Radio Noise

Abstract

The problem of estimation of suitable broadcast signal strength in the MF and HF bands for satisfactory reception in the presence of atmospheric radio noise is examined, with specific reference to the tropical problem. Simple procedures are indicated to estimate the required signal strength on the basis of the available noise data, to obtain the specified system performance.
