Abstract
In digital systems there are a number of timing sequences which are required for various applications. One of the sequences which is commonly required in digital instruments is described here. The basic idea of using such a sequence is to synchronize various operations with the clock pulses/timing pulses. Two circuits which can achieve this are considered here and the one that is suitable for digital frequency counters is explained in detail. The circuit makes use of three IC packages which makes it compatible with TTL/DTL systems.
