The Simulated PNPN Switch makes the Bootstrap Sweep Generator Free Running

Pages 378-380 | Received 17 Jul 1970, Published online: 21 Aug 2015

Abstract

The conventional type of bootstrap circuit when modified for free running operation eliminates the need for an input gating waveform. The amplitude, slope and frequency of the output time-base waveform are smoothly controllable over a wide range. The fast operation of the simulated PNPN switch permits a fast flyback or retrace time of a fraction of a microsecond. The triggered and the gated modes of operation are also possible with minor adjustments.
