Abstract
The conventional type of bootstrap circuit when modified for free running operation eliminates the need for an input gating waveform. The amplitude, slope and frequency of the output time-base waveform are smoothly controllable over a wide range. The fast operation of the simulated PNPN switch permits a fast flyback or retrace time of a fraction of a microsecond. The triggered and the gated modes of operation are also possible with minor adjustments.
