Second Order State-Space Decomposition of Transfer-Function Matrices

Abstract

A method of describing systems by sets of second order differential equations has been proposed recently. This second order state-space formulation, different from the conventional first order state-space representation, appears to be more promising in some cases. So, some useful results of decomposition of transfer functions, hitherto obtained as first order state-space formulation, are derived using the second order state-space formulation.
