An Electronic Programme Switching Unit

Abstract

The master switching room in a broadcasting centre is called upon to switch several programmes to a large number of outgoing lines. Facility must exist for preselection and simultaneous final switching. Proper cueing facility and light indications are also necessary. This is, at present, being done in All India Radio stations with the help of uniselectors. The paper describes an alternative method of achieving this by transistorized switcher of the cross-bar type.
