Reduced Bit Rate Transmission of English Text by Vowel Separation

Pages 1-3 | Received 08 Sep 1970, Published online: 21 Aug 2015

Abstract

Every language has both syntactic and semantic redundancies. These redundancies can be used to transmit the texts with smaller bit rates. Exploitation of semantic redundancy is exemplified by a scheme which reduces bit rate required for transmission by sending consonants and vowels over separate channels.
