Abstract
A monthwise non-standard refraction for the year 1960, from the radiosonde data of coastal radiosonde stations between Aden and Singapore has been presented. The data bring out some special features of the equatorial regions besides providing a good knowledge of the refraction condition from sea level to 1500 metres over the Arabian sea and the Bay of Bengal. Ground-based super refraction data have also been presented for the benefit of the users of microwave frequencies over the area. A brief generalized description of the meteorological conditions responsible for the distribution of non-standard refraction has been included.
