Pages 38-40 | Received 04 Feb 1971, Published online: 21 Aug 2015

Abstract

The paper describes the design, development and construction of a good transistorized communication receiver to suit the requirements of the Police Radio Organizations in the country. The details of the various stages of the receiver employing latest techniques in solid state design using transistors in direct coupled configurations with a view to achieving a high degree of quality and other requisite characteristics of a high grade communication receiver are described in the paper. The specifications of the solid state communication receiver are in fact better than a similar commercial receiver (valve version). No such solid state communication receiver appears to have been developed in the country so far. The communication receiver meets the requirements of the Police Radio Organizations admirably well. It is meant for A1 operation.
