An Expression for the Distribution of Current in Asymmetrically Driven Antenna Immersed a Dissipating Medium

Abstract

A reasonably accurate expression containing trignometric terms is deduced for the distribution of current and the driving point impedance of a cylindrical dipole isotropic medium. Firstly, the current distribution is deduced with symmetrical excitation and then with antisymmetrical excitation. A proper superposition of the two gives the case of asymmetric excitation. The case of arbitrary excitation is a special case of asymmetric excitation.
