Abstract
A fully transistorized indicating type Echo Sounder for measurement of depths from 0·8 to 30 m in reservoirs using indigenous components is described. The instrument uses an imported transducer operating at frequency of 200 kilocycles/sec. Torch cells are used in the circuit so that the portability of the instrument is achieved. The complete equipment has power consumption of 1 watt and provides an accuracy of ±0·5 per cent or 6 in. whichever is greater.
