Abstract

After achieving perfection in the art of telecommunication of sound and vision, probabilities and potentialities of communicating odours should now be considered. The article suggests a scheme in detail for both parts of the telecommunication-transmission and reception of odour information. The two vital problems, that are pointed out in the article, need be solved before the proposed scheme could be realized to have, what is named here a ‘teleodour’; and relevant suggestions are included here to help crossing these hurdles. Features such as modulation, choice of radio carrier, demodulation, amplification, oscillation, being common to all telecommunication systems, are not elaborated here. Information derived from the odour information and that encountered with in the various stages of the system are all in the binary form; this simplifies every element of the system.
