Abstract
Free carrier absorption modulation of infrared and sub-mm wave radiation in a pair of crossed forward-biased junction diodes is analysed. It is shown that distortion and efficiency (of a single diode) remaining the same, the depth of modulation can be increased 100 per cent through the use of the above system.
