Abstract
The paper describes the use of d.c. chopper as a field controller in constant h.p. systems. Two schemes are presented: one with speed feedback and the other with power feedback using a Hall-effect transducer. Voltage and current limit feedback circuits are incorporated for safe operation of the system. Experimental performance curves are presented.
