Abstract

In this paper applications of pattern recognition are discussed in brief and a few methods of feature extraction are reviewed. A sequential algorithm is introduced which selects strategies for on line procedure and serves to guide for best feature subsets depending upon features already extracted.

The method detects only a minimum number of feature subsets to detect the presented pattern from other categories and is capable of deriving invariant features from continuous patterns irrespective of size, slight orientation and deformation.
