A Network That will Keep a Crystal Oscillator Operate at Zero Phase Angle

Pages 555-557 | Received 09 Aug 1972, Published online: 21 Aug 2015

Abstract

A crystal oscillator is described, which will automatically adjust its frequency, so that the crystal unit operates at zero phase angle (i.e. resonance), whenever there is a change in the crystal parameters, or one crystal unit is replaced by another. The circuit is capable of this self-adjustment to within one part in ten degrees and over a frequency range of 1–200 MHz.
