Abstract
In this paper the characteristics of electromagnetic waves propagating through semiconductor loaded parallel plane waveguide in the presence of a strong transverse magnetic field have been discussed. It is found that electric fields perpendicular to the applied magnetic field become coupled. B-Ω curves have been drawn from the dispersion relation of TE waves for Ge, Si and GaAs as semiconductor materials. We also find that TM modes cannot propagate in the presence of transverse magnetic field.
