Excitation of Electromagnetic Waves in Solid State Plasma Filled Rectangular Waveguide by Uniform Line Current

Abstract

The excitation of electromagnetic waves in rectangular waveguide filled with one component solid state plasma in the presence of transverse magnetic field is studied and the approximate analytical solution for the radiation from this rectangular waveguide is carried out. The field distribution at the mouth of the guide is assumed to be unaffected by the termination of the guide. The vector Huygen's principle is applied to find the far zone radiation field from the determined aperture field.
