Abstract

An easy approach is described in the form of an algorithm to solve the exclusive-OR operation between two specified switching functions, necessary in any mathematical formulation of fault-detection procedure utilizing the idea of ‘Boolean difference’. Necessity of algebraic manipulations are eliminated. The result of the exclusive-OR operation is directly arrived at by inspection, using the technique of conflicting entries.
