Radiation Pattern of an Inclined Shunt Slot in the Narrow Wall of a Rectangular Waveguide

Abstract

Expressions for the radiation field of an inclined shunt slot in the narrow wall of a rectangular waveguide referred to a fixed co-ordinate frame and the overall radiation pattern of two oppositely inclined slots spaced λg/2 apart in waveguide have been presented. The relative magnitude of two polarizations of radiated field is studied for different inclinations of the slot. Experimental results of radiation pattern measurement are compared with the theoretical plots for an array of four oppositely inclined shunt slots. Mutual coupling in arrays is discussed in brief.
