Abstract
Analysis of the generalised Wien bridge circuit has been made. The conditions for getting the maximum slope of the transfer function both in magnitude and phase have been derived. The optimum condition is different from the conventional specification. The unbalancing of the Wien bridge may be used to obtain very high selectivity. Plots of the ratio of unbalanced to balanced Q versus forward gain G are given. Stability criteria of the selective amplifier have been investigated by Routh-Hurwitz test and Root locus technique.
