Abstract
Long-distance telegraph/data circuits are built up on a number of links on different transmission facilities. A comparative analysis of performance of such circuits vis-a-vis the number of component links is presented from the standpoints of error rate, failure probability and information capacity. Binary Symmetric channels are assumed. The contribution of the transmission facilities is shown.
