Pages 257-261 | Published online: 11 Jul 2015

Abstract

The health care of 600 million people is a gigantic challenge. A scientific planned approach is inevitable if the benefits of modern technological achievements are to reach the masses. The extent of utilization of the recent instrumentation techniques depends to a large extent on the medical profession who have to accept and adopt these techniques. Automation and semiautomation of certain hospital procedures may prove economical in certain selected places having large in-patient and out-patient workload. In a multilingual country, public education in regional languages using the media of publications, radio and television is of utmost consequence. One can foresee increased use of instruments in the years ahead.
