Abstract
Basic requirements of high efficiency line scanning systems used in TV receivers are discussed in this paper. Important active device parameters and trends in developments of these devices for more reliable systems are given. The development of passive scanning components is dealt with. Observation on the scanning system developed at CEERI for 48 cm valve receivers and 28 cm solid state receivers are given.
