Abstract

A model experiment has been performed at 9.60 GHz to study the enhancement of diffracted signal by mounting a knife edge over a cylindrical hill. The transmitted plane wave front is obtained by a rectangular horn and the receiving horn is aligned for maximum reception. At various locations of the edge obstacle, the obstacle gain has a maximum (as high as 16 dB) at some optimum value of edge height. The results are in good agreement with the theory.
