Computer-Aided Synthesis of Two-variable Ladder Networks

Abstract

A computer-aided synthesis technique for two-variable, n-th order, immittance functions is described. An algorithm, based on two-variable Routh's criterion for continued fraction expansion is used which tests the realizability of the given function and at the same time synthesizes it into one or more of the several proposed ladder forms. A computer programme encompassing the concepts of the paper has been written and tested successfully.
