Abstract

The complete design considerations of a microwave antenna assembly at various frequencies are presented. The compensation of the phase-front due to a feed position displaced from the focus towards the paraboloidal reflector is achieved by a suitable metal-plate lens with a refractive index of 0.75 at 10 GHz. A theoretical expression for the phase-front of the displaced feed is derived. Detailed lens structure for perfect compensation of the phase-front is supplemented. Bandwidth study has also been made at other frequencies in the X-band for the designed antenna assembly.
