Abstract

The study of propagation characteristics of various MF transmissions revealed an increase in the field strength around sunset followed by a sharp dip and then a gradual increase. Thereafter the field strength decreases gradually till about 2130 hours after which it increases further till about midnight. The magnitude of sunset maximum increases with increase in effective frequency of transmission. Remarkable sunset field changes have been observed for even short distances.
