Abstract

The paper presents the investigations on potential and field distribution for a uniformly filled strip-line. By separating the inverse elliptic function of complex variable into real and imaginary parts, which are standard elliptic integrals with real argument, exact expressions for equipotential and flux lines are obtained. The negative complex conjugate of the derivative of complex potential function gives the closed form expression for the field distribution as an explicit function of variables representing the co-ordinates of any point in the region between conductors. It is also shown that the expressions for charge distribution, capacitance and power handling capacity for the strip-line using flat as also rounded conductors can be easily obtained without going through truncation of an infinite series and matrix inversion.
