Quality and Reliability Management for Electronics

Pages 233-235 | Published online: 11 Jul 2015

Abstract

Three important parameters of any product are (i) speed, (ii) accuracy, and (iii) reliability. The importance of speed and accuracy is well understood and in fact what one understands by quality is the product speed and accuracy. The problem which is faced today is how far these quality parameters are reliable. The inherent reliability of any product is dependent on (i) design, (ii) parts going into the product, and (iii) processes which yield the ultimate product.

These have got to be selected and appropriately controlled to achieve the desired level of reliability. This is possible only if there is an organization with full capability and authority for implementing all aspects of the reliability programme. In this paper, the author discusses tasks of such an organization and also organizational set up to improve the Q & R of products made in small-scale sector.
