Abstract
The quick response indicators usually have large settling time. The present approach is an attempt to reduce the settling time in instruments having second-order system behaviour. Here the system behaviour is changed automatically by electronic switch from underdamp to critically damp which ultimately reduces the transient response to a great extent from 2.95 ms to 0.75 ms. The device is solid-state and portable.
