Modern Signalling Devices Used in Railways

Abstract

Monitoring the conditions of running trains, their composition and route of travel is tending to be mechanized both for improving travel safety at increasing speeds as well as to minimize the man-power. A number of devices, some very simple and many very sophisticated, have been developed for this purpose.
