Abstract
Rumsey's reaction concept has been used in the analysis of mutual coupling between two waveguide radiators directed radially and inward and opening onto a perfectly conducting large concave ground plane, the radius of curvature being large enough that the apertures can be considered lying on “locally” plane surface. A combination of equivalence principle and image theory has been used in finding a general expression for mutual admittance between the two apertures. The theory has been applied to the particular case of two rectangular waveguides propagating only the dominant mode and opening onto a perfectly conducting concave sectoral cylinder. There is close agreement between the theoretical and experimental results. By a direct extension of the theory, the expression for the input admittance of an arc array of waveguide radiators on a concave cylindrical sectoral Surface has been developed.
