Abstract

A number of tests have been planned and are being implemented regarding broadcasting- satellites.

Experimental health and educational television (TV) broadcasts were made and are currently in progress from the ATS-6 in the 2.50–2.69 GHz band. Transmissions from the ATS-6 had been successfully used in the 860 MHz band for the 1975 Indian Instructional TV experiment.

An experimental Communications Technology Satellite is providing Satellite broadcasting and communications service, in Alaska and in portions of the US and in Canada, in the 1.7–12.2 GHz band.
