Abstract
In high-frequency inverter circuits used for induction heating and melting, series-parallel compensation of the load is carried out to increase the circuit turn-off time. In this paper, a current-fed inverter circuit with such a compensated load is analysed. The effect of the compensating components on the circuit operation is discussed and a suitable range for circuit parameters is established. The effect of di/dt inductor on circuit turn-off time and di/dt rating of thyristors is evaluated. Graphs are presented to determine various component values and their ratings.
