Theory of Waveguide Matched Load Using Magnetic Resistive Sheets

Pages 249-253 | Received 21 May 1977, Published online: 11 Jul 2015

Abstract

An approximate design analysis of a waveguide matched load with magnetic resistive sheets (rubber ferrites) for high power work has been attempted. Performance parameters of matched loads have been calculated numerically. Graphs of theoretical and experimental results relating VSWR and phase to frequency for two thicknesses reveal good agreement between theory and experiment showing validity of analysis. Graphs relating bandwidth Δf/fo to the angle of inclination, φ, of the inserted material at different VSWR's and at varying thicknesses have been plotted to facilitate easy design of matched loads in 3.0 to 5.6 GHz range.
