Note

Sandwich Transducer Design and its Testing

Abstract

The transcedental equation relating dimensions of a sandwich transducer to the impedances is recast in a form which is suitable for simplified calculations. Experimental results to assess performance of the transducer are included.

NARAYANA, K L: Secured first class in MSC (Tech.) Applied physics from Andhra University (1965). He has worked for 10 years in the field of ultrasonics. At present, he t is working as Senior Scientific Assistant at Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar. To his credit, he has more than 30 research papers in the above field. He is a member of Acoustical Society of India. His fields of interest are industrial applications of ultrasonics and ultrasonic instrumentation.

K. M. Swamy

SWAMY, K M (Dr): Secured First Class in MSc (Tech) Applied Physics (1967) and PhD (1974) from Andhra University. He has worked in the field of ultrasonics for 10 years. At present, he is working as Scientist at Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar. Developed a number of patented equipments and published more than 40 research papers in various Indian and foreign journals. He was awarded a certificate of merit by NRDC in 1977 for his development of an “Ultrasonic Therapy Unit”. Ho is a member of Acoustical Society of India. At Present he is in West Germany on deputation for advanced studies in ultrasonics. His fields of interest are ultrasonic instrumentation and industrial applications of ultrasonics.

R. S. Rohella

ROHELLA, RS: (b. 1941 October 25; Sonepat). Graduated in Electrical Engineering from Delhi Polytechnic, Delhi University (1965). Thereafter he joined Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar and subsequently, was promoted as Scientist. He is engaged in research and development in the field of ultrasonics and electronic instrumentation. Developed a number of patented equipments and published more than 20 research papers in the above field. He was awarded a certificate of merit by NRDC in 1977 for his development of an Ultrasonic Therapy Unit. He is also continuing his research work leading to doctorate degree in the field of automatic control systems. He is a member of Acoustical Society of India and Associate member of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers. His fields of interest are ultrasonics, instrumentation electronics and automatic control systems.
