S.K. Hajela

HAJELA, S K (Dr): After graduating from the University of Roorkee and obtaining Doctorate degree from Germany, Dr. Hajela joined the P & T Department as Officer of the T.E.S.—I (Indian Telecommunications Service Group ‘A’) in 1959. He was posted to TRC, where he designed a number of active circuits for carrier systems coaxial systems, equipment power supplies and large capacity power plants for use at various telecommunication installations. In 1970, he was deputed to ITI Ltd., Bangalore, where he led the design group on digital systems and power plants. In August, 1972 he was posted as Chief Engineer (Research) at the Naini unit of ITI, where the entire range of FDM, TDM and VHF/UHF communication systems have been developed. During 1977–Apr. 1979, Dr. Hajela was given the charge of management of the Naini unit, where as General Manager, he implemented many new expansion schemes. Since June, 1979, Dr. Hajela has been posted as Dy. Director General in the P & T Directorate with the responsibility of formulating the plans for integrated development of telecommunications in rural areas through modern technology. He is Director on the Boards of M/s Keltron Crystals Ltd., M/s Uptron Powertronics Ltd. and M/s Central Electronic; Ltd. and is Fellow of IETE.
