Standardization of Electronic Instruments—A Review

Abstract

Standardization, is an accepted tool for the growth of industry. It helps in achieving overall economy, inter- changeability and rationalization. For any equipment, may it be a mechanical equipment or a most sophisticated electronic equipment, what is expected is satisfactory performance over a certain period. Standards, which are results of standardization effort, lay down the minimum requirements consistent with quality and reliability and also prescribe uniform test procedures to verify these requirements.

Nayyar, D K: Did B.Sc. Engg (Hons) in Electronics & Telecommunication from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi in 1977. Worked with Banutrol Pvt. Ltd., as Design Engineer for Electronic Industrial Controls before joining Indian Standards Institution in April, 1978 as Assistant Director and since then he is with the Electronics & Telecommunication Department of ISI. Presently, dealing with standardization of Resistors, Capacitors. Electronic Instruments and Radio Communications.
