Abstract
Planar antennas employing printed circuit techniques are ideally suited for aircraft, spacecraft and mobile-land applications. Keeping these in view, a 12×4-element planar array antenna has been developed. The antenna has a power gain of 19 dB. It has a half power beamwidth of 6° in the H-plane and 20° in the E-plane. The antenna has a bandwidth of 2% and operates in the X-band. The input VSWR is less than 1.9 over the band.
