A Direct Reception System for Time Synchronization via INSAT-1

Abstract

The Indian National Satellite System INSAT-1 is being planned to be in Operation during 1982. This is a multipurpose satellite system for domestic telecommunication and meteorology with capability for nation-wide direct TV broadcasting using two S-band transponders. These transponders are also planned to carry two RN channels for the purpose of time and frequency dissemination. This paper describes in detail a complete direct reception system for time signals to be transmitted by the satellite in the band (2555–2635) MHz.
