Subharmonic and Ultraharmonic Responses of an Oscillator to A Noisy FM Wave

Abstract

This paper discusses the behaviour of an oscillator in the subharmonic and ultraharmonic modes of synchronization by an FM signal contaminated with additive white Gaussian noise. The expressions for the locking range in these cases have been evaluated when the modulating frequency is large compared to the locking bandwidth. Experimental results supporting the theoretical predictions have also been presented.
