An Approach to the Design of Optimal Linear Regulators with time Weighted Quadratic Performance Criteria

Abstract

A procedure for the design of optimal feedback controls for linear time-invariant systems relative to time-weighted quadratic performance criteria is presented. An example is given to demonstrate the control over transient behaviour given by the design based on time-weighted performance criteria.

Subsequently Joined as CSIR fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Andhra University. Presently, working as Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Andhra University. The fields of interest are Control Systems, Systems theory applications and Electrical Machinery.

Rao, V Purnachandra (Dr.): Obtained BE degree in Electrical Engineering from Andhra University in the year 1962 and MSc (Engineering) in Electrical Machine Design from Banaras Hindu University in the year 1963. Worked as Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Banaras Hindu University and later as Reader in the same Department. Obtained PhD degree in Power Systems from Banaras Hindu University in the year 1977. Presently working as Reader in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. The fields of interest are Power System Analysis, Stability and Control, Optimal Control and Block Pulse functions.

L.B.K. Sastry

Sastry, L B K (Dr): Obtained BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur in 1955, M SEE from Purdue University in 1970 and PhD from Andhra University in 1972. He joined Engineering College, Andhra University in 1955 as Technical Assistant in Electrical Engineering. He became Professor of Electrical Engineering in the same College in 1971. He is presently at Bayero University, Nigeria working as Reader and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. His fields of interest are Electrical Machinery and Control Systems.
