Abstract

The Onboard VHF and UHF Antenna Systems flown successfully in Bhaskara Missions are described. The VHF antenna system used for Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) purposes in 136–150 MHz band is an improved version of the Aryabhata Antenna System with better radiation characteristics and modified feed for simultaneous operation of all communication packages at different frequencies. The UHF Antenna is a single monopole on the top face of the satellite which will receive transmissions from unattended data collection platforms (DCP) in 400 MHz band.
