Telemetry in Space Technology

Pages 345-347 | Published online: 10 Jul 2015

Abstract

This paper discusses the present status and future plans in the area of telemetry applications in ISRO.

ISRO has indigenously developed several analogue (FM sub carrier modulation) and digital (PCM) Telemetry systems and has successfully flown them on various rockets and spacecrafts. The corresponding ground segment equipment has also been developed and made operational.

With more ambitious programmes being undertaken by ISRO, the requirement of telemetry systems for these programmes is also growing. Telemetry equipment requirement by ISRO is about eight to ten crores of rupees per year.

Telemetry systems developed by ISRO have found application in other disciplines of engineering. The present seminar is an indication of the possible widespread applications of the telemetry systems in the country.
