Abstract
Some logical justifications on selection and operation of Flame ‘Scanner for measuring combustion inside the furnace of industrial steam generating unit have been considered from safety and efficiency point of view of a plant concerned. Application of the present techniques existing specially in power plant engineering have been discussed giving full details of its merits and demerits. Basic guidelines for modifications of existing techniques have been given.
