Stabilization of Multivariable Systems using Output Feedback

Pages 69-70 | Received 06 May 1983, Published online: 10 Jul 2015

Abstract

In this paper, the-stabilization of inherently unstable multivariable systems by output feedback is discussed. For systems which cannot be stabilized by unity-rank proportional-output feedback due to pole-zero cancellation, a two-stage design procedure will stabilize the system. In the case of other unstable systems, unity-rank proportional-derivative output feedback can be used for stabilization. The stabilization procedure is illustrated with numerical examples.
