Abstract
Slant transform specially designed for image coding has been utilized since slant vector is a discrete sawtooth waveform decreasing in uniform steps over its length, which is suitable for efficiently representing gradual brightness changes in an image line. Real time one-dimensional slant transform coding has been developed and the results are presented in terms of subjective quality.
