A System for the Machine Processing of Bengali Character Strings

Abstract

A system for the processing of Bengali language strings through a conventional computer is described here. It includes a coding system through which the letters of Bengali language can be represented by Roman letters. The transliteration is based on spelling. The transliteration scheme and related algorithms are described in this article.
